Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

You will be pleasantly surprised thanks to the numbing agents applied prior to and during the treatment, it is not a painful treatment to have. It can be a little uncomfortable towards the end of the treatment but definitely bearable, most clients describe it as a light scratching sensation.

Where can I purchase my numbing cream from?

In QLD it is a legal requirement that each client must supply their own numbing cream. We recommend Border Compounding Pharmacy in Maroochydore OR Artisan Compounding Pharmacy in Warana. Simply contact them by phone or email to arrange your numbing cream prior to your appointment. When ordering, please ask for anaesthetic cream for the specific area getting tattooed - eg: brows, eyes or lips.

How do I know what style and colour will suit me?

Laura and her team ensure all clients receive a thorough consultation prior to your treatment. During this consultation your lifestyle, style preferences and skin type will be discussed so we can determine the best style and colour for you.

Can I still get lip tattooing if I suffer from cold sores?

Yes, you can safely have lip tattooing however we advise if you have had cold sores in the past that you consult with a doctor or pharmacist to obtain an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure as a preventative.

Can I receive cosmetic tattooing while pregnant?

It is not recommended to receive cosmetic tattooing while pregnant. Due to the small risk of infection and the use of topical anaesthetic prior it is best to wait until after your baby is born.

How many appointments will I need to get to my desired result?

Two treatments are usually needed, at least 4-8 weeks apart. With most procedures, the colour fades dramatically after a week. For the second treatment, Laura will gauge the colour retention and add the required amount of pigment. On some occasions, clients will need a third appointment to ensure their desired result is achieved. This is due to skin type and lifestyle.

There are many different factors that can affect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo and we recommend touch-ups every 12-18 months.

Do I need to wax/thread my brows before coming in?

No, you do not. Laura and Demi will work with your natural shape to create the perfect brows for you.

I get my brows tinted as I have fair hair…Will I still need to do this after my tattooing?

Yes, you will. If your brow hair is very light or even grey, then any colour applied with the tattoo is on the skin and underneath the brow hairs. Tinting will still be required for some clients to ensure their brows look amazing, this is something that will be discussed during your consultation.

Do you tattoo winged/thick top liner?

No, we only tattoo a very natural lash enhancement. If you wish for this style we can recommend another artist to look after you.
